Frequently Asked Questions

  • When meeting with you for a new installation quote, we understand that watering your garden can be a top priority. There are several ways that this can be done, and we’re well versed and prepared to discuss those options with you during your in-person quote!

  • The amount of watering that your lawn needs varies on the time of the year, and rainfall. Typically, as a rule of thumb, we recommend running your sprinkler system every other day through out the summer. If you notice brown spots in your yard, 5 times a week should help. In the Spring and Fall, more consistent rainfall typically means that you can dial back the amount of times you run your sprinkler system to 2 or 3 times a week.

  • When installing a sprinkler system, hundreds of feet of pipe must be placed underground as well as several valves, fittings, and sprinkler heads. That being said, Bozeman Sprinkler Co. uses a “trenchless” machine to pull pipe, leaving only a small seam in the ground. Outside of that, the areas where sprinkler heads, fittings, and valves must be placed are dug up by our team and backfilled neatly after. Although the process might look intrusive to your yard, by the time we’re finished your yard will be good as new!

  • We use Rain Bird heads on all of our work!

  • If one or more of your zones is constantly running, even when the controller is turned to OFF, you may have one or more valves stuck open. Follow these steps to close that valve:

    1. Locate the valve box in the yard. This is usually a green, plastic box. Simply pull the lid off to expose the valves.

    2. Turn the water on to see which valve is leaking. You will likely get wet during this process.

    3. With the water on, follow the instructions in the video.

If this does not work please make a service appointment as you may have a broken solenoid or valve.
